Art Designer in Las Vegas

The Art Designer researches, designs, and develops art work for media used to explain or enhance gaming theme and characters or symbols. This includes determining style, technique and medium best suited to produce desired effect while conforming to reproduction requirements

Duties:

• Creates and/or enhances or cleans up drawings, computer generated symbols or characters.
• Provides 2D and/or 3D user interface screens, typefaces for incorporation into final games.
• Creates, colors, and touches up game-ready electronic artwork.
• Contributes innovative and original ideas to game or art team.
• Provides background art or color specialties.
• Finishes layout, complementary portion of artwork to design team, or modifies art characters under tight deadlines.
• Consults with game designer to develop and complete game themes.
• Reports to senior manager any discrepancies or problems requiring resolution.
• Complies with the company’s regulatory guidelines and corporate policies at all times.
Maintains confidentiality regarding the company, products and employee information

Qualifications:

• Associate’s degree in Graphic Design, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Art institute certification or awards desirable.
• Three to five years related experience and/or training, Strong life drawing skills and experience; clear understanding of theme art, color, and gaming symbols. Photoshop required; Illustrator, Director, Flash, MAYA 3D software desirable. Gaming Industry experience desirable.
